Why I Love the Boise Bench

Oct 14, 2025 | Uncategorized

When I first came to Boise to play ball at Boise State, I was convinced I’d never leave Southeast Boise. Close to campus, the Greenbelt, and downtown—it felt like I had everything. Then a couple of buddies needed a bigger house, still near the action, so we packed up and moved to the Boise Bench.

And let me tell you—game changer.

I fell in love with the character of the homes, the tree-lined streets, and the way every block feels like it has its own personality. The Bench has these mature trees that make summer feel cooler, scenic views that remind you why you live in Idaho, and homes that are still affordable while being just five minutes from downtown. It’s like living in a small town inside the city.

Fast forward to today: I’m raising my family here and investing in most of my real estate right here on the Bench. Why? Because this place has soul.

A Street for Everyone

The Bench really is a “choose-your-own-adventure” kind of neighborhood. Want views? We’ve got them. Want to be steps from shopping, coffee shops, and the Greenbelt? Done. Want a cozy bungalow with mid-century charm? Check. The Bench has a street that fits everyone’s vibe—from young professionals to retirees and everyone in between.

Freedom to Be You (a.k.a. No HOAs)

One of the best parts? No homeowners associations. None. Zero. That means you can park your camper in your driveway, plant a garden that takes over half your yard, or string up Christmas lights that rival the Griswolds. Here, your home really is your castle.

Location, Location, Location

You’re five minutes from downtown, the Boise River, and the Greenbelt. That means brunch by bike, evening walks by the river, or catching a concert without worrying about parking. Need groceries, a quick workout, or some retail therapy? Everything is right here.

Parks, Playgrounds, and Personality

The Bench is stacked with parks—perfect for kids, dogs, or just some “me” time with a cup of coffee and a bench (pun intended). Pair that with the quirky mix of homes and neighbors who actually wave when you walk by, and you’ve got a community that feels welcoming the second you move in.

Why the Bench? Because It’s Home

At the end of the day, the Boise Bench isn’t just where I live and work—it’s where I invest, raise my kids, and put down roots. It’s a community with character, charm, and the kind of neighborly vibe you don’t find everywhere.
